What's the difference between a concertina and an accordion?
The concertina is similar to an accordian, but has a hexagonal shape and buttons on both ends. Concertina buttons travel in the same direction as the bellows whereas accordion buttons travel perpendicular to the direction of the bellows.
The concertina was invented in 1829 by Sir Charles Wheatstone.
