Capsela
All Capsela parts are compatible—the more you own, the more you can create!
The famous Capsela motorized building system will fascinate kids with "hands-on" science concepts they'll discover for themselves. Instead of just reading about energy or forces, they can actually handle interlocking parts, create motors, and see for themselves how energy changes with the help of visible gears and wheels. Octagonal connectors and couplers are used to connect one part to another—no tools are required for assembly. Some kits include axles, floats, chain links, a fan, and much more. And all Capsela parts are interchangeable and come with a full two-year manufacturer's warranty!
Each kit contains an easy-to-follow activity booklet introducing physical concepts such as energy changes, electric circuits, motion energy, friction and traction, buoyancy, and electric circuitry. Most kits include an illustrated basic Science Booklet and Design Manual. Project instructions teach principles and provide inspration for imaginative creations. Capsela will delight and entertain the whole family as kids proudly show off the fun operating models they have built.
Capsule Types
The Capsela system is built around a series of interlocking capsules, each having a distinct mechanical or electrical function.
- Motor Capsule—This is the power source to motorize all models, activated by one or two AA batteries.
- Speed Reduction Capsule—Reduces motor speed while increasing torque, or turning power.
- Crown Wheel Capsule—Changes direction of motive drive through a 90-degree angle, and decreases the RPM ration 2:1.
- Worm Gear Capsule—Combines functions of speed reduction and crown wheel into a single unit.
- Internal Gear Capsule—Changes shaft speed without changing direction.
- Rotary Switch Capsule—As shaft turns, switch is opened and closed, activating a blinking light.
- Clutch Capsule—Designed to engage or disengage motor drive.
- Transmission Capsule—Extends gear action without changing the connecting gear force.
